Finger Techniques

Top  Previous  Next

There are different ways to hold your fingers and hands.  These are just some techniques we've tried.

One Hand - One Finger

Use your index finger.  Tuck in your unused fingers.  Be careful to not let them straggle or the Leap Motion Controller may decide that they are fingers.

One Hand - Two Fingers

a."PEACE" -  Hold out your index and middle finger.  Tuck in your other fingers.  It looks like a peace sign.

b."HANG LOOSE" - Hold out your index and pinkie.  Tuck in everything else.  This is good because you can do chords this way and cover a lot of ground just moving your pinkie.

Two Hands

Make sure that your hands are on their own sides.  When you overlap them or move them too close the Leap Motion Controller won't be able to identify where you hands and fingers are.  This will result in pure and utter chaos.  Our advise is to never cross the hands, unless you are going for that avante garde feel. ;)

Your Head

Hold a pencil or pointer in your mouth and play music.  It will identify the pencil as a finger.

Any Pointing Object or Pencil

Hold any pencil or pointing object above the Leap Motion Controller.  It will identify the object as a finger.

Fist

Ball your hand into a fast to make the Leap Motion Controller stop tracking any fingers.
